The representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism, the City Administration of Vologda and Cherepovets, as well as tourist sites took part in it.
"The federal target program for development of domestic and inbound tourism in 2011-2018 has reached its finish line. That is why our task is to travel to all regions of Russia and estimate actions, including regional authorities, on tourism development. Currently there are three projects being implemented in the Vologda region. The projects are interesting, significant, quite ambitious. We need to look at the results of their implementation over recent years," Deputy Head of Rosturizm Nikolay Korolev said. "The Vologda region has a good tourist potential, and we note on the outcome of today's meeting, of our monitoring: the Vologda region fulfills its obligations to implement this program. "
Thus, in the region there are implemented three investment projects on the creation of tourist and recreation clusters: Nason-gorod in Vologda, Center for outdoor activity and tourism YES in the Vologda District and Central City Embankment in Cherepovets.
In 2013-2017 to construct the infrastructure for tourist and recreation clusters (engineering services, roads, embankment) the federal, regional and local budgets allocated 439.1 million rubles. The investments in the sites of tourist infrastructure are more than 1.53 billion rubles. Two hotels were reconstructed. Two hotel complexes, the business center, the modern botanical garden in Vologda, the hotel, the downhill skiing, the rope park, the contact zoo, the theme park in the center of outdoor activity and tourism YES, the Metallurgical Industry Museum, the berth for motorships, two social and cultural complexes in Cherepovets were built.
In 2018 the project “Creation of the tourist and recreation cluster Central City Embankment” continues to be implemented in Cherepovets. The agreement was signed between the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Vologda Region Government on granting in 2018 a subsidy from the federal budget to the regional budget in the amount of 114.1 million rubles on co-financing terms from the regional budget in the amount of 34.08 million rubles to continue works on the Embankment site and to construct transport infrastructure in Galsky Estate complex. The planned investments in tourism service infrastructure of the project will amount to 346.2 million rubles.
"The Vologda region has been participating in the programme since 2011. We are the second largest tourist and recreation cluster in the Russian Federation," Deputy Governor Oleg Vasiliev said. "Another one our global task is to tell one of the Rosturizm heads what prospects the region sees in participating in the program for the next years. This applies to both Vologda and Cherepovets, and further development of the YES cluster. There are also new ideas. This is not only the old brand Hometown of Ded Moroz, but also a new one Vytegoriya – korablenaya storona. Of course, at the moment we can’t talk about the volume of investments of future years. But we already now have to form applications and look for investors. "
